Help Support Log A Load For Kids!
Log A Load for Kids is an annual campaign which encourages businesses and individuals in the forest products community to donate the value of a load of logs to their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Today, Log A Load For Kids is a leader in Children’s Miracle Hospitals’ fundraising, raising more than $2 million annually through golf and fishing tournaments, dinners and truck loads of log donations as well as other events held annually. Log A Load For Kids mission is to raise funds to improve children’s health through treatment, education and research at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other local children’s hospitals.
Log A Load For Kids was started in 1988,by William (Bill) Boyce, Larry Connelly and his wife Carol, and Lorraine “Rainey” Evans. The concept of Log A Load For Kids is for loggers and other timber related businesses to donate the value of a load of logs, or any amount, to a nearby Children’s Miracle Network Hospital which will be used to treat sick and injured children. Additional fundraising events are also organized by Log A Load For Kids volunteers to supplement donations to the hospitals.
The South Carolina Forestry Association developed the first Log A Load For Kids program to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since then the Log A Load For Kids program has expanded to 39 states, and has raised more than $44 million for 75 member hospitals.
